A versatile singing actress, Darla has performed across the US and abroad in concert, opera, music theatre, film, television and cabaret.
Her film and TV appearances include Turandot with San Francisco Opera, Friendly Fire and NBC's Parenthood. Companies include San Francisco Symphony, Portland Opera, Connecticut Opera, Oakland East Bay Symphony, Festival Opera, Opera Barga (Italy), Theatreworks, George Coates, and American Opera Projects at Lincoln Center.
Her solo act premiered in 2008 and performs regularly in clubs and venues around the Bay Area. Recent highlights include Oakland East Bay Symphony's Follies - with Rita Moreno, Val Diamond & Sharon McKnight and her debut with San Francisco Symphony in Le Rossignol(conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas) as well as cabaret performances in San Francisco's acclaimed Rrazz Room.
Other highlights: She performed the role of Nefertiti in Oakland Opera Theatre's West Coast premiere of Philip Glass' Akhnaten - called "one of the musical events of the year" by the San Francisco Chronicle as well as the title role in The Rape of Lucretia with San Francisco Lyric Opera and Mrs. Soames in the West Coast Premiere of Ned Rorem's new opera Our Town with Festival Opera. She played the Mad Woman in the Attic in Theatreworks Jane Eyre and a Liebeslieder in the acclaimed A Little Night Music at the Post Street Theatre.
